Breaking News! Things are worse than yesterday.

Each day I go online to find various articles or videos for the social media accounts associated with this blog. Each day it is easier to find more bad news.

You can always find bad news, of course, but it's so much easier now because of the convergence of events and the ease of access to information on the internet.

Some days, there are so many news stories with connections to end times signs of Jesus' second coming that it's almost paralyzing to figure out which ones to share. Plus, there are lots of end-times ministries or social accounts sharing the same things (some to excess, perhaps).

Today I went to my RSS reader and began working through the many news articles. It was exasperating. There were too many, really. How to choose? Which ones were the most important? Which were just fear porn to get clicks? At one point, all I could think is this:

Things are just getting worse.

But then that thought was immediately followed by:

God is still on the throne.

I will still attempt to pick and choose articles, but there are so many flooding the internet, stories of wars and rumors of wars, of moral failings, of diseases, of increasing numbers and strength of natural disasters, of famine and looming famine, of encroachment in the Middle East, of a wandering church, of off-the-charts deception taking out people of every political and social persuasion...

Please excuse the foul language. But this is just one of a vast number of "patriots" deceived, where yesterday's pandemic awakening is leading to today's war deception. Sadly, many saying such things claim to be Christians.

Let me reassure you that yes, what was bad yesterday is even worse today.

What was trending downward is still doing that even more so today.

The evil of yesterday will be exceeded by today.

But be so in peace, because we know.

We know.

We know who holds the future. We know who holds today. We know Jesus is coming soon, and we are seeing the signs increase. We know he'll call his church home before he returns. We know we can rest in our faith, in the peace that passes all understanding in these chaotic and angry times, that God sits on the throne and if tomorrow comes for us, it'll be worse news and his grace and mercy will be all that much greater for those resting in it.

Be encouraged.
