You will own nothing, and be unhappy. But they'll convince you you're not.

It's not a question of material goods making you happy.  We know that not to be true, that the pursuit of material goods and wealth as the sole goal to be empty and meaningless. It's a question of whether the idea of "you'll own nothing and be happy" is a true statement that brings about good. Think what the upcoming generations have been trained to see as normal, and good: Open borders and disrespect/no protection or seizure/closure of private property Globalization Renting an apartment/home for life Living in a "tiny" box-like house Leasing vehicles Using vehicles, machines, home security, and other home and devices that are connected and can be controlled elsewhere, whether you ask them to or not Wearing watches and using apps and trackers for "health" and exercise monitoring Streaming video and television Streaming music Digital e-books protected by DRM  Paperless office and record-keeping Digital economy and currency Virtual reality (or th
