The Antichrist will be a populist.

I debated between using "may be" and "will be" in the title of this blog post, but I went with will be.

As I've alluded to in other posts regarding the increasing deception that will continue to grow, Christians and non-Christians alike aren't fooled by the globalists. There is an ever-growing odd collection of people on the left, center, and right who are walking in agreement about their distrust and desire to expose the WEF, the elite, the overlords of recent years that have so clumsily played their hands.

If they're not fooled now, why would they be later?

When you see the massive rallies and protests and marches across the world, they are populist movements. They are pushing back at the elites and globalists. They are nationalists. When you dive into the many social media groups and websites dedicated to politics, they are about grassroots rising up and becoming active to push back and shake off the control of these powerful government bureaucrats and such. This grassroots movement of the people is attracting every kind of person imaginable. It goes beyond politics, in some sense, beyond stereotypes and the boundaries that have traditionally fractured the citizenry. We are united in our desire for freedom. You can't blame people for that.

That's why I think the the antichrist will be a populist of sorts.

I often wonder how our populist movements, and the people in them, would feel about righteous King Jesus ruling the world with a rod of iron in the millennium. Populism and democracy aren't God's preferred method of governing people, though our Constitutional representative republic is (theoretically) about as good as you get in a fallen world, a good balance between dictator and mob rule. But the driving force of the masses of people deciding what will and will not be is not exactly advocated in the Bible. Populism is often a reaction to authoritarianism, with one excess driving people to the other. Satan just has to play with the scales to herd people to the right response when the antichrist steps onto the stage.

Granted, an argument could be made that the current global chaos of inflation, recession, war, and unrest, mixed with the confusion and fear after the rapture, could make people run to the globalists for a solution. That might be. I don't know. There are certainly a lot of people still eating the globalist lie, so perhaps it will ultimately capture everyone.

But right now, they would not. And such loathing and hatred for the WEF and the elite has grown at the grassroots level that I can't imagine it happening.

Somehow the antichrist is going to appeal to the nationalism and populism that is so disgusted by woke culture and elitist control that he'll bring nearly everyone under one triumphant tent of standing for the will of the people around the world (before he pulls the rug out from under them, of course).

Oh, he'll make handy use of the systems the globalists are creating now, that evil beast system, though he may put a different façade on them to make things like tracking or digital currency more palatable to populists.

For this reason, while I appreciate and can support the populist and nationalist movements, I have to be aware that Satan isn't stupid and he sees what rallies the people. The antichrist is going to be tapping into what moves the people, not the universal loathing of the globalist elite.

And that's why I've tried to caution people to be wary of throwing all of their energy into the grassroots political movement that, while doing good things now, may end up being an avenue to deception after we're gone. Consider a few possibilities:

  1. There's the sense that the populist movement feels that because they weren't deceived in recent years, they are on the right track and cannot be deceived because they know all about the globalists now. Thinking you are in the know, are awake, and aren't deceived makes you easy pickings to be deceived.
  2. We aren't aware how easily we trade our focus and hope in Jesus coming for us for political changes and victories. Our energy is put towards grassroots political activism instead of evangelism, and after we're gone in the rapture, we essentially left behind a populist path to the antichrist instead of to Jesus.
  3. Not enough Bible prophecy teachers are talking about this potential angle, focusing instead on globalists and training people to see only that angle. A deception from a different direction isn't being warned about.
  4. We think that as long as people see the "truth" about the globalists and are marching alongside us, there's less urgency to tell them about the one and only Truth.

It's a fine line to walk. In order to push against woke culture and all the of the sick and evil things the globalists and governments push on their people, we are necessarily herded into a nationalist and populist box. Good things are happening there, and we have to continue to press back as we occupy until Jesus comes for us.

But we are a growing number, from all walks of life, and Satan isn't blind to what's uniting and electrifying people around the globe. He'll use it. In our grassroots efforts, be most motivated by Jesus Christ and sharing the Truth instead of making sure every globalist conspiracy is understood.
