The battle between wisdom and knowledge.

This is not a perfect diagram, but it illustrates a basic concept.

 

Wisdom is not knowledge. They are not the same.

Wisdom comes from God. It might overlap knowledge, but it contains the supernatural element of the Holy Spirit, as well as an action attached to putting into practice the wise things God tells us.

The world values knowledge and information, and entices us to gain all of it that we can. Learn more. Learn at school, learn online, watch the videos, be awakened, don't be a sheep, chase the knowledge and wake up.

The world, run by the Great Deceiver, attaches awakening to knowledge.

"Surely you will not die, if you eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. You will be like God. You will know. You will be empowered to act and to understand."

The "world" isn't just the leftist influence. There is a non-Christian right that advances their own version of knowledge, packaged in New Age Gnostic wrapping that can be impossible to discern without the help of the Holy Spirit.

In the last days, knowledge will increase. Look at the diagram (overlap B). As knowledge increases, what else will increase?

Deception.

You be careful about what you're chasing after. 

You be careful chasing after "the truth" instead of The Truth (Jesus). You be careful how eagerly you consume the latest exposure of a conspiracy with just enough facts to indicate there may indeed, be some kind of conspiracy and that you are "empowered" because you are now awake.

"Open your eyes! Do your own research!"

If you don't start with the Bible and constantly talk to God about that research you're consuming, you'll be deceived.

Knowledge comes from the things of the world. Wisdom comes from careful study of God's Word. You can learn and know things about God's word (e.g. Bible history or context) that help in building wisdom. In this way, knowledge points to wisdom.

Unfettered and unrestricted chasing after knowledge can destroy your faith if you're headed in the downward direction towards deception. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. If you are unable to hear any longer (i.e. you are deceived to the point of not being able or willing to hear The Truth), your faith is being destroyed even while you feel so awakened and aware and in the know as you watch videos and follow people online sharing information that supposedly exposes the darkness to "light."

Lucifer is an angel of light. Don't forget that.

In the information age, all people are hungry to know more. Is it any wonder that Jesus wondered if he'd find any faith left on the earth at the end? Why have faith when you can have knowledge and be awakened on your own?

Any pure and beautiful piece of knowledge, from wonderful music to delicious food to life-saving medicine, is directed from God. Any knowledge that leads to debauchery, deviancy, division, distraction, or hopelessness and death comes from satan.

That's the tricky bit about knowledge; you have to know where it is originating from.

When I sit under a Biblical teacher helping me to understand the Word of God, that falls in the overlap area labeled A. When I sit under a teacher twisting the scriptures towards hatred of the Jews or insisting we focus on being reawakened or saving our nation or fighting against flesh and blood or other devious beliefs that lead me from God, that falls in the overlap area labeled B.

Overlap B is everywhere, and it looks so, so benign. So helpful. So good. So truthful. It feels like you're chasing justice and renewal and instead, you're being led into deception.

Enjoying accumulating knowledge isn't wrong, but do you know from which source it is coming from? You'll know, when you look at where the knowledge leads. And the knowledge at work today, from Big Tech to forced injections and vaccine passports and evolution-based racism and hatred of Israel and conservative reawakened conspiracy theory is clearly part of the growing slide into pure deception.
