Bible prophecy book recommendations.

There are a lot of books out there about the end times, but I wanted to share a few with you that I've read recently and that adhere to a pre-trib pre-millennial view.

Agents of the Apocalypse, by David Jeremiah, is a great read.

What's unique about this book is that it combines a few fictional threads along with a detailed explanation, based in scripture, about each player in the end times. (It is similar to Agents of Babylon in approach, which does the same fiction+Bible mix.)

The book is broken up into chapters, highlighting one of the players (the Woman, the Dragon, the Beast, the False Prophet, the Victor, etc.). The chapters start as a fictional telling of what might happen in an engaging way that is very believable. Then, the rest of the chapter breaks down everything you need to know about the topic using lots of scripture.

We often see similar books focus on the "usual" suspects, but Jeremiah brings in the devil and Jesus in a way that helps us understand the spiritual war going on. Instead of just focusing on the end times events, readers get a better understanding of why those events are happening.

It's a great way to help you understand how everything fits together and grasp some challenging parts of scripture. You start to see how much scripture is prophetic, and how the grand story, from Genesis to Revelation, weaves together.

You can get a copy of the book (as well as a study guide if you so choose) from Turning Point ministry's website, or wherever you prefer to buy books.

But wait, there's more.

While David Jeremiah has many books on Bible prophecy (and they are all quite good, including The Handwriting On The Wall, which is about Daniel and is one of the best in-depth studies I've read on the topic), The Book of Signs is almost the tour de force as far as comprehensive coverage of everything the Bible says about the end times, and understanding it.

The book is broken down into the different signs we see all around us as the end approaches, based on what we the Bible reveals.

He starts with international signs, where he covers geopolitical signs we'll see. Then there are the cultural signs regarding morality and lawlessness. He also covers the heavenly signs, tribulation signs, and end signs.

While you can get the accompanying Bible study in multiple parts, there is also one put out by Thomas Nelson publishers that has all 31 lessons in one large book. It can be used for individual or group study, and you can actually use it whether you get the main reading book or not. You will be digging into your Bible.

As will all Jeremiah books, there are audio teachings available on his website if you choose to purchase those.

Donna VanLiere is mostly known for her books on Christmas, often made into Hallmark movies. These are not those books.

She is now finished with an end-times series in which the first half of the book is fiction with the second half of the book going into detail on the Bible prophecy that the fiction is based on. You get a sense of what it might be like during the tribulation, plus solid Bible teaching as to why that's happening in the story.

These books are a good choice for teens or young adults who might not have any exposure to Bible prophecy. They make a good gift for those who love fiction and might be more open to reading this rather than a non-fiction book on the topic. And, of course, if you like to read you'll simply enjoy these books.

I think she did get some flak from her readers who weren't used to this kind of material coming from her, but they are well-written, fast paced, and Biblically solid.

She also did a podcast on these topics called "Things Are Looking Up" which you ought to listen to, and share with others.

Todd Hampson is an artist and writer who has come out with some great books on Bible prophecy, the book of Revelation, and spiritual warfare. These books are unique in that they use his clever cartoon illustrations to make the concepts easy to understand.

These books are Biblically solid, easy to read and understand for teen and up, and are a great option for someone new to the topic of Bible prophecy, or a gift item for someone new to the topic. There are also Bible studies and quick topical guides that could be used to share this message with others.

He also has a podcast with Jeff Kinley on the topic of Bible prophecy, the Prophecy Pros podcast.

Terry James and Pete Garcia have partnered to write one of the most intriguing and unusual books about the rapture and the tribulation that I've read in a while.

They lay out an end times timeline, but pack it with intriguing speculation that isn't wayward or weird, but instead, forces the reader to think about the interconnectedness of what happens at the end with what we know about the entire Bible, as well as think logically about what things like blood water and huge hailstones will do to the earth.

This has been the most unusual and interesting book I've read about the end times and it will challenge you to think deeper about some of the passages we've become so used to reading that we don't really pause and consider.
